Virtual Parenting Hour

Each week, our Family Support team will be discussing all things parenting on Zoom! Join us with questions around communication, guiding behaviours, routines, play, self-care, and so much more. Click here to register.

Best Babies

Best Babies is an ongoing weekly program funded through the Vancouver Island Health Authority and offers support to pregnant people and their newborns up to 6 months of age. Participants attend weekly group sessions that cover topics including prenatal education, health, nutrition and infant care. Participants have an opportunity to socialize over a nutritious lunch. Parents also receive food vouchers, bus tickets, vitamins, information and other support when needed.

Parent Support Baby/Toddler Group

Ongoing weekly virtual discussion and support group for parents and caregivers with babies 0 to 18 months. Parenting Support & Baby Group is held on Wednesdays from 11am-12pm; Parent Support & Toddler Group is held on Wednesdays from 12pm-1pm.

Nobody’s Perfect

“Because there are no perfect parents”. This program is geared toward parents and caregivers of children aged birth to six years old. Nobody’s Perfect is designed to strengthen positive parenting skills.

The sessions are free, interactive, and fun. Nobody’s Perfect gives parents a safe place to meet others with children of the same age and with whom they share interests or concerns. The program is facilitated by a trained Nobody’s Perfect Facilitator. There is childminding available and snacks are provided.

Mother’s Mental Health Toolkit 

This 6-week program focuses on mental health and wellness for mothers, providing information and support in a facilitated group, and a chance to connect with other moms in the community. Childminding is offered to participants, as well as snacks and bus tickets.

Parenting From a Dad’s Perspective

Parenting from a Dad’s Perspective is a virtual discussion group for self-identified fathers of children up to age 6. We’ll look at child development, nurture and structure, healthy relationships, communication, and responding to behaviours.

Parent-Child Mother Goose

The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program is a group experience for parents and their babies and young children which focuses on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs and stories together. Parents gain skills and confidence which can enable them to create positive family patterns during their children’s crucial early years, and give their children healthy early experiences with language and communication.

PCMG is currently offered as a weekly drop-in program at Royal Oak Neighbourhood House. Please contact for registration.
